Anyone who wishes to attend is welcome at the GW City Park at 10 a.m. Friday.
Just be sure to bring your own chair, officials caution.
There will be a lot of singing, games, free food—and general bunches of fun.
Meanwhile, Cyndi Taylor Krier, 63, will be the guest speaker at the event. She is an attorney, lobbyist, former college regent and Republican Texas senator.
She has spent several years of public service at federal, state and local levels. She has enjoyed successful private sector careers both practicing law and working at a Fortune 200 financial services company.
The former San Antonio GOP politician served in the Texas State Senate serving San Antonio and Bear County from 1985 to 1993 and as administrative judge of Bexar County from the early 1990s to 2001. She is the only woman and only Republican to hold that office.
She also has served as vice chair of the University of Texas Board of Regents from 2001 until 2007.
Growing up in Dinero, she graduated from George West High School in 1968 after attending George West schools beginning in third grade.
The Lady Longhorn team on which she played reached the state tournament her junior and senior years.
She is married to Joe Krier, who was president of the San Antonio Chamber of Commerce for 20 years.
He now serves as a member of the San Antonio City Council.
