Out of a workforce of 3,807 people in Goliad County, there were 149 unemployment claims filed in May compared to 123 in April.
Goliad County’s jobless rate for May 2013 was 5.4 percent.
The statewide unemployment rate for May 2014 was 5.1 percent.
Lavaca and Gonzales counties had the area’s lowest unemployment rates for May 2014 at 3.5 percent.
Calhoun County’s jobless rate was the highest at 4.6 percent.
