GOLIAD – The Goliad ISD Board of Trustees approved the revised proposed tax rate of $1.21657 per $100 of home valuations at Monday’s meeting.

A total of $1.04 of the proposed tax rate is for maintenance and operations and $0.17657 is for debt service.

The current tax rate is $1.185 per $100 of home valuations with $1.04 for maintenance and operations and $0.1450 for debt service.

The increase was deemed necessary by the school board due to the pending lawsuit filed by Coleto Creek Power Plant against the county, contesting its appraised value.
