Goliad man dies from injuries sustained in wreck

GOLIAD COUNTY – A one-vehicle crash on Farm-to-Market Road 622 in Goliad County has resulted in the death of a 25-year-old Goliad man.

A.J. Ripps rolled his 2003 Ford F-250 pickup early Sunday morning and was transported to Victoria's DeTar Hospital Navarro before being flown to University Hospital in San Antonio by helicopter. Ripps was in critical condition and died Monday evening.

According to Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper Ruben San Miguel, the crash occurred at 3:16 a.m. near the intersection of Leisure Lane. Ripps was ejected from the truck and was not wearing a seat belt, according to San Miguel.
