GOLIAD COUNTY – A 60-year-old Goliad woman was taken to a Victoria hospital Thursday afternoon after she rammed her GMC pickup into the rear of a tractor on State Highway 239, approximately four miles east of Charco.

San Juanita Ramirez was taken by Goliad County EMS to DeTar North Hospital in Victoria. According to Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper Oscar Garcia, Ramirez sustained minor injuries.

The tractor was traveling west when the GMC pickup, which was also traveling west, struck it from behind and shoved the tractor approximately 40 feet down the highway.

The driver of the tractor, 74-year-old Gerardo Gonzalez of Goliad, sustained a cut on his forehead.

The crash occurred at approximately 4 p.m. The tractor is owned by Goliad County resident Pat Calhoun.
