Goliad senior guard Emily Perez was named Offensive Player of the Year on the All-District 30-2A girls basketball team released recently.

Goliad senior center Avery Zamzow was a unanimous first-team selection and teammate Sydney Morris, a junior guard, was named to the second team.

Perez averaged 17 points, six rebounds and 2.3 assists per game. Zamzow scored 13 points and grabbed 7.9 rebounds per contest while Morris averaged 12.4 points, 4.1 steals and 2.3 assists per game.

Goliad players receiving honorable mention were Brianna Delagarza, Melanie Jones and Bailey Janssen.

Zamzow, Delagarza, Janssen, Perez, Sara Pnacek, Kendra England, McCalley Cunningham and Demari Ellis were Goliad players earning Academic All-District honors.

Aransas Pass senior Brianna Cribb was unanimously named Most Valuable Player. Edna senior Allison Kolar was selected Defensive Player of the Year and Industrial freshman Kelsey Van Pelt was chosen Newcomer of the Year.

Aransas Pass’ Deborah Boudoin was named Coach of the Year.

Joining Zamzow as unanimous selections on the first team were Industrial senior Elissa Beaudoin, Edna senior Shayna Palacios and Bloomington junior Brittany Wallace. Other first-team selections were Palacios junior Geneva Perez, Refugio junior Jackie Gonzalez, Tidehaven senior Skylar Mitchell, Aransas Pass senior Jackie Jasper and Edna senior Caroline Arellano.

Also making the second team were Aransas Pass junior Keeli Oliver, Bloomington junior Katie Williams, Edna sophomore Kacey Nidey, Industrial senior ma Kayla Lenamon, Refugio senior Cecilia Bauer, Refugio junior Morgan Klaevemann and Tidehaven senior Danielle Galvan.
