Beeville’s Frank Gonzales III has earned a trip to the 2011 Amateur Organization of Karate in Austin in December with his fine showing at recent tournaments.

Back in May, Gonzales competed at the sixth annual Mongoose Open Karate Championships in San Antonio. He finished second in sparring and third in Korean Katas against some tough competition.

In June, Gonzales was in Austin to compete in the 41st annual Karate State Championships, in which he won first place in sparring and second place in Korean Katas.

His next major competition will be the A.O.K. meet in December, back in Austin, for another shot at a state title.
