On Saturday, June 29, I was honored at Kings Park for my 41 years of service to the community and the Town of Refugio. Mayor Joey Heard presented me with a marker and plaque that will be in Kings Park for many years to come. It is a beautiful marker and plaque set up by Oscar Meza.
I enjoyed the crowd of friends, family and good wishes from them. The presentation along with “Ray Day” made the day exceptional. Thanks to Mayor Heard, council, my family at City Hall and everyone who had a part with the maker, plaque and the event as a whole.
Thanks to Judge Rene Mascorro and Christi, Chief of Police Andy Lopez and Sylvia. Special thanks to Lenny and Sharon Anzaldua and the Chamber of Commerce for the goodies and refreshments served at the park.
Also my special thanks to the Jaso families who were with me at the park. Lillie, Rey Jr, Millie, Roxanne, Roland, Andrea, Jared, Bryan, Ronnie, Lupe, Russell, Ryan and Robby. Also thanks to Hernan and Julie, Jorge and Robert. Thanks a lot to the VFW Post 6290, the community and the county press for the coverage. The pictures in the press are going to be good memories of an outstanding event for many years to come. To my wife Lillie, my assistant, secretary and political helper for 41 years of loyalty and support. Thank you.
