GOLIAD – Representatives from the local Texas Department of State Health Services demonstrated the dangers of leaving a child unattended in a car July 17 at the Goliad County Library.

Jody Harper, left, and Candy Camacho parked a car with a thermometer in it in front of the library. A display showing the temperature outside the car and inside the car sat on a table outside the doors of the library.

The outside temperature at 3:13 p.m. was 94.8 degrees, but the temperature in the car was at 123.6 after one hour parked outside the library.
