Aduddell submitted her resignation effective Aug. 31. She has served in the position for 11 years.
Henning is currently the chief deputy in that office where she has worked for 26 years.
Aduddell’s unexpired term will be included in the November General Election. Candidates who wish to run as a write-in candidate for treasurer must file with the county judge before 5 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 20.
Independent candidates have until Aug. 28 at 5 p.m. to file.
The chief deputy said she will file as a candidate for the position.
The county judge’s office is required to be open until 5 p.m. to accept applications on the filing deadline dates.
Each party chair will submit a certificate of nomination form to fill the unexpired term by Aug. 28 at 5 p.m.
The new official will assume office immediately after the votes are canvassed on Nov. 14.
