Kastyn Hoffman has successfully advanced to the 2014 AAU Track and Field Jr. Olympics for the Kenedy 4B summer youth program by winning the high jump in the 9 year old female division.

Kastyn took the high jump bar at 2’ 6” and remained perfect until she eliminated herself at 3 feet for the gold medal.

As the Texas Region 19 Champion, Kastyn has until July 15 to declare her intentions for the Jr. Olympic track meet held July 28 thru August 1.

This year, the 2014 Jr. Olympics will be held in Drake University, Des Moines, Iowa.

According to Kenedy 4B Coordinator, Manuel De La Garza, 4B only funds coaching instruction to the Kenedy youth and sponsors them up to the AAU Texas Championship Track and Field games.

Kastyn has practiced long hours in the afternoon at the Kenedy track and her morning track meets have required Saturday 5 a.m. wake ups.

Under AAU rules, Kastyn, her parents and coach, are eligible to accept sponsors and/or donors for transportation and lodging to and from the Jr. Olympic games.

This year, Coach Havron and Coach De La Garza assisted the 4B track kids.

Anyone interested in assisting Kastyn to attend the Jr Olympics, should contact Kenedy 4B Director Larry Kiesling at 830-583-2462, Coach De La Garza at 830-583-4387 or Kastyn’s parent’s at 210-268-9802.

Kastyn is the daughter of Noelle Hoffman and Mark Hoffman.
