The Lady Trojan varsity volleyball team garnered several District 30-4A honors for their play this season.

Seven Lady Trojans were chosen by the district coaches to their elite lists. Two Beeville ladies made the first team all-district as seniors Erin Tabb and Hillary Hennig were named to the first team. Both players spent a great deal of time along the front line for the Lady Trojans and were in the serving rotation for head coach Larry Lollar.

Two more seniors, Cassandra Vela and Audrey Jones, landed on the second team for their fine play this year. Vela was the team’s setter and Jones was the libero or defensive specialist who saw most of her time along the back line, digging and passing opponents’ hard serves and hits to setter Vela.

Three Lady Trojans were named to the district’s honorable mention list. Juniors Carissa Elizalde and Krista Gonzalez along with sophomore Shanise Wilson made the elite list of volleyball players.

The Lady Trojans also were well represented on the all-district academic team as Jones, Vela and Gonzalez made the grades (must carry a 90 plus average in the classroom and be in good standing with your team) to make the list of outstanding student/athletes.
