The Skidmore-Tynan JV Bobcats played two games this past week and earned a split of the two contests.

On Monday, the boys traveled to San Diego to take on the young Vaqueros. The Bobcats came out flat and were defeated by a score of 36-13.

Leading scorers for the Bobcats were Jeremy Byrd with five points and Hudson Wallace with three. Jonathan Hernandez and Brandon Smith each had two points. Sterling McHorse made one free throw to complete the Bobcat scoring.

In the second game of the week, the Bobcats traveled to Woodsboro.

The Bobcats jumped out to an 8-4 lead after one period. Woodsboro tied it at the half, 18-18.

The teams traded the lead in the second half before the Bobcats held off the Eagles late for the win, 34-31.

Leading scorers for the Bobcats were Hernandez with nine points and Smith with eight. Ryan Scott contributed seven points and Wallace added six. Byrd and J.D. White each scored two tallies.

“The boys played very poorly on Monday. I challenged them to step it up on Tuesday and they did. The effort was outstanding and they played together as a team,” said JV coach Matthew Harrington.
