The Trojan junior varsity soccer team entertained the Pleasanton Eagles on Tuesday night at Veterans Memorial Stadium and worked hard for a 1-0 victory.

The junior varsity girls were in Pleasanton for their contest with the Eaglettes and were blanked, 4-0, by the home team.

The JV boys got a first half goal from Samuel Serna. It turned out to be the lone goal of the game as the Beeville defense shut down the Eagles and prevented anything from reaching the goal. Marcus Ulloa played well as the Beeville goal keeper got the shutout.

The Trojans used a good passing game and some speed on offense to thwart the Eagles.

“I would say that Will Bond was the MVP of the game. He is the sweeper and played very hard on offense and defense, despite having some bruised ribs,” said JV coach Nick Whatley.

Both of the junior varsity teams were in San Antonio on Friday night to meet the Harlandale Indians.

The JV squads will be back in Beeville for next Tuesday night’s encounter with the Cowboys and Cowgirls from McCollum.
