Last Friday and Saturday the Karnes City Tennis team competed in the District 28-2A tennis tournament at Starcke Park in Seguin.

The team brought many competitors this year including doubles teams Chance and Chayse Leal, Brandon Harrin and Randy Flores, Dora Bazan and Tiffany Cano, and also Andres Moncada and Eloy Rodriguez placing second for JV. Mixed Doubles included Taylor Pena and Victor Flores, and Haleigh Warlick competing in Girls Singles.

The KCHS team was very successful this past weekend with the Leal brothers winning the district championship and Haleigh Warlick placing second in Girls Singles. All three advance to the Regional tournament on April 16-17 in San Marcos.

After last year’s run all the way to the State tournament, KCHS tennis has plans to keep these traditions alive as they move on further to post district play.
