Your Karnes City Community Chamber of Commerce is still as busy as ever and even more so when it comes to visitors coming into the office continuously. It seems that more maps are needed in order for many of the companies associated with the Eagle Ford Shale to have county roads and highways information to be designated for all of the drilling rig workers and truck drivers needing to find various locations. Our chamber office still has a good supply of the Karnes County maps, so just come by and pick them up as needed. We also are still busy helping new businesses with grand openings, ribbon cutting events and just letting our community know who has moved here and what they can do to help other businesses and our citizens.

One such business owner of Savell Business Loans, Scott D. Savell, though not new came by to let us know that he is still in our area to provide loans for those interested in starting or continuing with a business here in our area. And all of us know how many kinds of businesses we would like to see start up in Karnes City and the surrounding areas. So, just call or stop by the chamber office for information.

Other information we have to share with you, our community, has to do with upcoming events we hope you will attend. The 2nd Friday Breakfast, just a few days away on Oct. 12, will be at the newest office of Merrill Lynch Company at 328 West Main in Kenedy. As usual, it will start at 7 a.m. with breakfast goodies and lots of information from our city and county leaders. Also, really not that far in the future, your Karnes City Community Chamber will be having its Christmas in the Park on Saturday, Dec. 1 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Booths are available for community vendors to display their arts, craft, and food at no cost. There is a form to fill out available in the office so that we will know how many to plan for at the event. Also, like as before, we will have Santa Claus come and visit with the children and to have their picture taken with him. So, it’s not too soon to think about bringing your items and hope you’ll come by to fill out the form. Also, the Chamber will have beautiful Poinsettias for sale from Cooper’s Gardens. These items, too, need to be ordered before the event and you can sign up and pay for them, starting now. It wouldn’t be Christmas without those beautiful flowers to put in our home or at our Churches. Come by and see us for more information.

‘Til next time, Cathy
