Once again, this month as it comes to a close, has been an interesting time to be living in Karnes City and the surrounding areas of Karnes County. As I have mentioned in previous columns, when you grow up here like I did, nothing can compare with the amount of activity, changes, and meeting so many new people and possibilities for new businesses going on daily. One of other interesting items is finding out how the expansion of this activity is reaching beyond just Karnes County.
Recently, the chamber had the opportunity to learn about Platinum Wealth Solutions and for me to meet its Registered Representative, Nicholas C. Valenti. They are having a seminar on Tuesday, Nov. 13 in Atascosa County at Jourdanton’s Community Center. It starts at 6:30 p.m. and all are welcome to attend. It amazes me even as I go through and read some of their informational flyers to realize the extent and number of the companies your Chamber of Commerce has been meeting and trying to help merge into our community in just the past year! And, again along those lines, the Chamber of Commerce will be attending a Grand Opening on Nov. 15 to help welcome another new company who has recently acquired the Bob Dietz’ Courthouse Barber Shop on Panna Maria Street. They are in the process of renovating it as it will not continue as a barber shop but will serve our community as the Maxout Savings Advisors, LLC. Your chamber is delighted to welcome Christopher Hotze and his fellow advisors as a new business member of the chamber and to look forward to their upcoming grand opening.
I believe we all should meet and greet all of our newcomers in a positive way and encourage them in any way that we can. As they try to help and meet our needs, let’s be sure to do all we can to assist them. After all, they are now a part of us.
‘Til next time, God Bless Karnes County - Cathy.
