How does the teacher grant process work? KCISD Educators submit applications to fund innovative projects not available in the school district’s regular operating budget. Grants will be awarded twice a year, once in the Fall then again during the Spring semester. The scoring for the grants will be done by a specific application process with set parameters such as: originality, student benefit, measurable goal setting, fund accountability, and how to measure success. All applications will be assessed blindly by a Grant Review Committee and with the final approval by the entire board. Stay tuned as we will be announcing our very first recipients and their creative projects before the end of this very school year!
In addition to this exciting grant program, the KCISD Education Foundation will also work to promote and recognize the academic excellence of our students. During the 2011-2012 school year, we will be organizing an awards banquet that showcases our students’ academic achievements and the specific educators that have impacted each of them.
The KCISD Education Foundation is an independent, non-profit IRS 501(c)(3) charitable organization governed by a volunteer board of directors who have a connection to Karnes City ISD and a common desire for promoting its excellence in education.
