Karnes City police investigating homicide

Karnes City police are seeking the public’s help with their investigation of a homicide that happened in a local bar Friday night.

According to police, a 911 call came in at 12:05 a.m. Saturday morning from a bartender reporting a fight at Bar Tonic, located at the intersection of Calvert and S. Market Streets.

When officers arrived, Jesus Jimmy Garcia, 29, of Corpus Christi was lying on the floor the apparent victim of a stabbing.

Garcia was transported by EMS to Otto Kaiser Memorial Hospital where he later died as a result of his injuries.

Garcia was reportedly originally from Three Rivers.

No arrests have been made in connection with the incident and the case remains under investigation.

Police are asking anyone who has information about the incident to contact them immediately at 830-780-2300.
