KARNES CITY -- The board of trustees approved the continued legal services retainer agreement of the Walsh Anderson law firm during the September 10 regular meeting of the Karnes City Independent School District school board.

The retainer agreement between KCISD and the law firm of Walsh, Anderson, Brown, Gallegos, and Green, P.C. is renewed annually and the KCISD has previously retained the legal services of Walsh Anderson for many years, according to district officials.

Walsh Anderson specializes in the various aspects of education law for school districts and other types of educational institutions.

“We have used the law firm of Walsh, Anderson, Gallegos, Green, and Trevino, P.C. for as long as anyone can remember,” said district superintendent Jeanette Winn. “The firm specializes in all facets of education law and provides telephone consultation, publications, email updates, and other legal work needed by the District. Overall their service to our district is exceptional.”

In other matters, trustees:

• Accepted the resignation of trustee Russell Swize

• Approved the appointing of Trini Gamez to fill the trustee vacancy left by the resignation of Swize. Gamez will be sworn in on the October 8 school board meeting.
