4-H ENROLLMENT
4-H Connect is up and running for the 2012-2013 school year. If you have trouble remembering your password please contact me. It is vital that you fill in all necessary information and have a usable e-mail and remember your password. Much of our communication will be through e-mail starting this year. Go to http://texas.4honline.com and register for 4-H has open enrollment, so if you know anyone who is still interested please tell them to let me know and we can get them signed up! The fee for the year is $20 until Oct. 31 then will go up to $25 per child. Adult volunteers will not be charged.
KARNES COUNTY 4-H CLUB MEETINGS
The 4-H Club meetings for Karnes County are listed as follows: Falls City 4-H, 1st Sunday of the month at 6 p.m. at the Falls City AG Shop, Kenedy 4-H Club, 3rd Tuesday of the month at 7:15 p.m. at the Kenedy Fire Station. Lonesome Dove 4-H, 2nd Monday of the month at 6:30 p.m. at the Small World Nursery School, Panna Maria 4-H, 1st Monday at 7 p.m. at Panna Maria School Bldg. Runge 4-H Club, 2nd Sunday of the month at 3 p.m. at the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Please note, the Kenedy 4-H Club meeting has changed to Tuesday, Oct. 9.
KCYS DEADLINES
All KCYS Entry Cards Due to Club Managers on Oct. 12. No entries will be accepted after this date. All KCYS Entry Cards and Summary Sheets due to the Extension Office on Oct. 15.
4-H COUNCIL MEETING
The meeting date for the September Council Meeting has changed. The meeting will be on Wednesday, Oct. 3 at 7 p.m. at the Extension Office. We are asking Club Managers to attend also because we have additional forms for pecans and also forms for the KCYS Summary. Several items need to be addressed also.
4-H PECAN FUND RAISER PACKETS
The packets for our pecan fund raiser were mailed out last week. Some families have not enrolled as of Friday, Sept. 28. If you do not receive a fund raiser packet, please call the office and we will mail you one. This is the only “fund raiser” we have and all 4-H members are required to sell. Deadline to Club Manager is Oct. 24 for all sales and monies. Timing is very important and we have to stick to the schedule to be able to receive pecans in December before Christmas.
NATIONAL 4-H WEEK
National 4-H Week will be Oct. 7 – 13. Please remember to support our 4-H youth when they approach you with a project they are having. These monies help pay for additional trips and training that help with their educational growth.

VALIDATION FOR MAJOR SHOW GOATS AND LAMBS
Validation of all Major Show Lambs and Goats will be at the Karnes County Show Barn in Kenedy, Wednesday, Oct. 17 from 5 – 7 p.m. If you have any questions, call JD Folbre at 830-780-3906
