Kenedy Elementary won the school campus category of the Kenedy Athletic Booster Club’s Annual Spirit Contest for the 2nd year in a row.
The office of Dr. Benjamin D. Ernst won the business category of the Kenedy Athletic Booster Club’s Annual Spirit Contest.
Dr. Ernst Office gets into the Kenedy Lions Spirit, winning in the business category.
The Kenedy Athletic Booster club recently held their Annual Spirit Contest the week of October 8-12. The contest consists of two divisions: Business Entry and School Campus. Members and officers from the Booster Club divided into two judging committees, one for the school campuses and one for the business. They then went around at noon on Friday, Oct. 12 to make their final decisions. It was a very difficult decision between the campuses as everyone did a great job showing their Kenedy spirit, but the elementary campus came away with the prize of free ice cream for the entire student body with their fabulous artwork hanging in the halls and their painted windows. This is the second year in a row that the Kenedy Elementary Campus has won first place.
For the Business Category the Office of Dr. Benjamin D. Ernst located at the Professional Building next to the Otto Kaiser Hospital wowed the judges with their enthusiasm and over the top decorating by playing the Kenedy Fight Song in their lobby, having a slide show of The Life of Leo the Lion, and topping their show off with bubbles. Their decorative efforts did not go unnoticed during the week as they had many visitors from hospital staff to patients who just stopped by to see such a display of Kenedy spirit. Dr. Ernst and his staff were awarded with a free lunch out at the restaurant of their choice.
Congratulations to the winners and a big thank you goes out to the judges who took their own personal time to help make this spirit contest a success: Dee Hallmark, Neva Schmidt, Lily Hons, Brenda Cano, Maryanne Gutierrez and Elena Hernandez.
