Planning has been intense this week at the Kenedy Chamber . The board of directors have been tweaking their plan of work for the 2012-2013 year and are excited about the changes and program opportunities the new year brings.

Sept. 13, a Microsoft Community Connections Seminar will be held at 7 p.m. to share updates in technology. For instance, did you know that the Microsoft XP and Vista programs are both going away and a new operating system has been introduced. Microsoft will be providing the new program as a door prize for some lucky business in attendance! Be sure and look for more details coming soon! September is also Lonesome Dove in Karnes City so get out and get involved. It will be an awesome month!

Kenedy’s Annual Six Shooter Junction Shoot-Out Golf Tournament will be held Oct. 20 at the Karnes County Country Club. Entry fee is $85.00 per person, same as last year, but it won’t be the same ole tournament! There will be food served on the 7th hole, a silent auction, door prices, trophies and so much more! You and your company will want to be a part of this great event! And, did you know that more business is conducted on the golf course, than in any other location? Your chamber wants to make every effort possible to provide opportunities for your company to meet more prospects and do more business than ever before. Give the chamber a call if your company would like to get involved, sponsor an event, offer a challenge or just tell us what you want from your chamber. We will listen!

On Thursday of last week, I had the opportunity to attend a Texas Chamber of Commerce Association, “Chamber Basics” training. Over 80 other chambers were in attendance. The training was fantastic and we are looking forward to implementing some new programs to help our community and businesses grow.

If your business is not currently a part of the Kenedy Chamber of Commerce, it’s time to get on board! Give us a call, we’ll come out to meet you and share some of the things we are doing, and will want to listen to what is happening in your world.

Until next week, live life fully!
