The Kenedy Chamber of Commerce was excited to be a part of the Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting for the Merrill Lynch office at 328 Main Street on Thursday of this past week. Many of the San Antonio Merrill Lynch office and their Area Representative Vincent Fertitta were here to celebrate. If you haven’t meet them yet, go by and say hello. You’ll be surprised to find some familiar faces there to greet you at the front desk.

This weekend the Bluebonnet Days queen and her court paraded down Panna Maria Street in Karnes City for the Lonesome Dove Festival Parade. What an exciting parade to be a part of with over 60 entrants in was amazing. Many faces were recognized in the crowd waving for every float. We love our community supporters!

This parade was especially exciting for us because so many of our own board members and chamber members were in the parade with us! In front of us were Conoco Phillips, Marathon, Wood Group Duvall and their office staff, family and crew sporting pink. Then behind them was our newest chamber members Carabin Shaw, who’s Ribbon Cutting will be Monday, Sept. 24. Then right behind San Antonio stock Show was our own Kenedy Chamber President Arnold Alaniz pulling the Miss 4th of July float with his beautiful daughter as queen. Their bless our troops patriotic float won 2nd Place in the parade! I know there were others I’ve missed. Be sure and call or come by to let me know what your group is doing and we will get it posted.

Our Six Shooter Golf Tournament is coming up Oct. 20. Call or come by the office at 216 Main Street to get signed up to play! It will be a blast with golf, food, fun and fellowship! Until we meet, live life fully! Brenda.
