Attention Kenedy Library members: during the weeks of Oct. 31 – Nov. 16, you can pay off your overdue fines with food instead of cash. So clean out your cupboards and clean up your library card debt all at the same time.

For every non-perishable food item brought in you will be waived .50 cents from your library fine. This applies only to fines and not lost materials.

Only non-perishable, undamaged, unexpired, and labeled items will be accepted. Items will be inspected by library staff for acceptance. Bring food to the Library’s Circulation Desk. Food accepted for fines on returned items only not for replacements fees of lost items

All the food donated during the drive will be distributed to local families who are in need, which may be determined by local groups.

Acceptable Items: canned fruits or vegetables, canned meat, fish, or poultry, canned soup, boxed pasta, rice or dried beans, boxed cereal, peanut butter, boxed mashed potato.
