There was a ton of fun to be had by all during Tuesday night’s Beeville Ladies Night Out Mardi Gras celebration fundraising event. Many of the women wore traditional Mardi Gras masks and costumes to complement the evenings festivities.

Even the vendors got in on the action, sporting elaborate costumes as they sold many different items from shirts and shoes to chocolate and baby items.
Never having attended any of the previous events, it was quite a surprise.
Once you walked into the Bee County Expo Center, you entered a world of women having a blast.
Everyone was laughing, visiting, shopping, eating and, of course, taking advantage of the abundance of alcoholic beverages.
It’s easy to see why so many women from all over attend the annual event and, if you missed it this year, you shouldn’t next year.
The huge room was filled with vendors from all over Bee County. Purses, baby clothes, hair salons, jewelry, sweets – you name it, and it was there.
Nearly 500 guests joined the celebration that night which is the biggest attendance to date.
The event is used to raise money for the Nursing Excellence Fund and also supports a student health care scholarship.
Christus Spohn ended up raising well over last year’s amount of $50,000 and still counting.
The King competition was new this year with Fred Morón winning with $1, 270 raised, just above Raymond Ramos who raised $1,065.
So, when all the Mardi Gras confetti is finally swept up and the vendors are back at work, you can pretty much bet that all the ladies are already getting ready for next year.
It’s a fun time, but only if you’re a lady.
Or if you’re lucky enough to get invited.
