KARNES CITY – Organizers of the 9th Annual Ladies Tea and Luncheon report another tremendously successful event, raising funds to be used by the American Cancer Society in the fight against cancer.

The event happened at the Kenedy Civic Center Saturday afternoon and ticket-holders were treated to a smorgasbord of favorite salads and entertainment by singer and songwriter John Wayne Schulz.

The theme of the event transported guests back to the “old west” and boots and hats were worn by members of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church who served the ladies attending the special event.

According to information at cancer.org, for more than 100 years, the American Cancer Society (ACS) has worked relentlessly to save lives and create a world with less cancer and more birthdays. Together with millions of their supporters worldwide, they help people stay well, help people get well, find cures, and fight back against cancer.
