“We competed well in every game but the Carroll game,” said head coach Jose Flores.
The Beeville girls ran into a hot pitcher against Austin Westlake and lost 7-0 on a one-hitter. Andrea Briseno smacked the one base hit, a double, for the Beeville girls.
King then captured a hard-fought 3-2 victory from the Lady Trojans. Two first inning runs got the Lady Mustangs going, and then they held off the A.C. Jones girls who scored single runs in the third and fourth frames.
Rebekah Mendoza and Briseno went 2-2 in the game. Rebecca De Los Santos, Eddika Ortega and Alyssa Bates all hit safely against King.
The Alice Lady Coyotes bunched together two runs in the first and three more in the third to win a 5-1 contest. Ortega, De Los Santos, Bates and Theresa Amador all had base hits in the loss for the Lady Trojans. Bates got the lone RBI for Beeville.
In a six-inning game against Ray, the Lady Trojans had five runners cross home plate, but the Texans plated 10 runs to earn the win. Ortega and Briseno both collected two hits in the contest. Amanda Gonzales had one hit and drove in two of Beeville’s runs. Briseno, Mendoza and Brianna Gobel plated the other runs.
The 5A Carroll Tigerettes were too strong at the plate for the Lady Trojans as they blasted the Beeville girls 16-0 in four innings. The Lady Trojans got base hits from Gonzales, Amador, Briseno and Mendoza.
The Lady Trojans picked up their lone with against the Miller Lady Bucs. The JHS offense exploded for four runs in the first inning and two more in the second. An eight-run outburst in the third finished off Miller as the Beeville girls earned a 14-4 victory. Briseno had three RBI’s in the win and De Los Santos and Taylor Castillo knocked in two runs. Briseno and Castillo had two hits apiece.
The Lady Trojan opened District 30-4A play on Tuesday night when they hosted Gregory-Portland. On Friday night, the Beeville girls will travel to Victoria West to battle the Warriors.
“We are looking to make a run at the playoffs and beating G-P will help that cause,” Flores said.
