The Kenedy Leopards hosted their annual tournament this past weekend.

The Kenedy Leopards finished 1st place with a record of 3-1.

Three Rivers Lady Bulldogs finished 2nd place with a record of 3-1.

Karnes City Lady Badgers finished 3rd with record of 3-1.

Stockdale finished 4th with record of 2-2.

The Kenedy Leopards lost their 1st game to Bloomington with score of 11-5, and then came back in the second game and won against St.J oseph JV beating them 11-1 in 5 innings.

They played the last game on Saturday against Karnes City and came out on top 6-2.

With Karnes City jumping out to a early lead in the 1st inning after that the Kenedy Leopards held Karnes City from scoring again.

Saren Sutton pitched a complete game against Karnes City. Xaubrianna Barrientez, Jacki Zapata, Laurel Vickery, Lauren Hernandez and Emily Richter had great offensive game. The Kenedy Leopard faced Stockdale on Saturday.

Stockdale took an early lead against the Leopards but the team came back to tie the game in the 3rd inning.

Stockdale took the lead again in the fifth inning.

The Leopards came back to tie in bottom of the 5th inning.

The Leopards held them in the 6th and the team came up to bat in the bottom of 6th.

Becca Brown drove in the winning run by bringing in Xaubrianna Barrientez to win 6-5.

The Leopards had Co-MVP Jacki Zapata and Saren Sutton.

All Tournament honors went to Xuabrianna Barrrientez for the Kenedy Leopards.

“All players on the team did a great job by winning 1st place,” Coach James Hinojosa said.

The Leopards will travel to George West on Thursday and Saturday to play in the George West Tournament. Friday, the Leopards will face Pettus for the team’s second district game.

The Kenedy Leopards have a record of 5-2 to start the season.
