In the words of my mother (after my alligator mouth had overloaded my canary butt), “That will be enough!”
This country was founded upon the principles of democracy. Every citizen has the right to vote for the candidate of their choice. The results of those votes are: majority rule.
You have the right to be disappointed if your candidate was defeated. You do not have the right to call those persons who voted for the winning candidate “maggots,” “lazy, worthless bums,” etc.
I hate to break it to some of you, but there are many Democratic voters out here who have been employed all our lives – 38 years & counting in my case. I know that will be a news flash to you since you seem to think that you are the only people in this country who actually work for a living!
We work just as hard, if not harder, than you do. We pay our bills. We do not have one hand stuck out looking for a government handout, and the other hand stuck in your pocket.
We did not vote for Mr. Obama because we think he’s Santa Claus, or because we think he’s going to give us stuff. Some of us happen to believe that he is a highly intelligent man, with a very big & good heart, who actually gives a damn about each and every one of us.
I’m sure some of you are making it quite difficult for him to give a damn about you, but since he is the very fine gentleman that he has proven himself to be for the last four years, I have no doubt that he will continue to work for the good of everyone, despite the incredibly ugly, hateful, venomous, & racist “stuff” that has flowed so freely from so many mouths lately.
One thing is for sure, this country has certainly proven that racism is alive and well – a fact which personally makes me sick! It is amazing to me that in this day and time we are still fighting the battle against racism.
Unbelievable! I am a sixth generation Texan, which is a fact that I used to be quite proud of. However, I would now be embarrassed to admit that to anyone because of the hateful, racist behavior that has been exhibited over the last four years from way too many of the citizens of this state.
You do not have to agree with me, just as I do not have to agree with you. However, there is no reason why we cannot agree to disagree, quit acting stupid, and start working together to find common ground to solve the issues and problems that we all face minus the name calling. That is not going to solve anything. It just makes everyone very angry.
