The Kenedy Lions brought home a second place to the Woodsboro Eagles.
The Kenedy Lions started strong with a first place in the Long Jump, Weston Hallmark, and second place in the Long Jump, Cedric Mejia. Weston Hallmark kept the momentum going with a first place in the Pole Vault.
Jeremy Rodriguez finished third in the Pole Vault, followed by Victor Monsevias with a sixth place finish.
The Lions kept rolling in the field events with a second place finish in the Shot put, Sheldon Hons, and a third, Sheldon Hons, and a sixth, Robby Gutierrez.
The Lions finished up the field events with a 4th place finish in the High Jump.
Kenedy continued its success in the running events as well.
Lions finished 2nd in the 4x100 meter relay, with a team of Jeremy Rodriguez, James Lopez, Cedric Mejia, and Weston Hallmark.
The Lions then finished first in the 4x200 meter relay, with a team of Jeremy Rodriguez, Cedric Mejia, Graham Lawrence, and Weston Hallmark. Justice Jaramillo kept it going with a 5th place finish in the 400 meter run.
James Lopez came in first in the 200 meter run, and Victor Monsevias finished 6th in the 200 meter run.
The Kenedy Lions finished up a strong day with a 3rd place finish in the 4x400 meter relay, with a team of Justice Jaramillo, Cedric Mejia, Graham Lawrence, and Weston Hallmark.
The JV also had a strong day with a second place finish.
According to the team’s coach, this was a very good day for the Kenedy Lions Track Team.
The Kenedy Lions and Leopards will compete this week in the Three Rivers Track Meet.
