Maria (Garcia) Perez, 75, of Beeville, died Monday, Jan. 14, 2013.

Mrs. Perez was born April 22, 1937, in George West to Apolinar and Lucia Reyna Garcia. She married Nicolas Perez in Beeville and was a homemaker and member of St. James Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Nicolas Perez; and her parents, Apolinar and Lucia Garcia.

Survivors include a brother, Geronimo (Lucy) Garcia of California; a sister, Concepcion Martinez of Rockport; two sons, Henry (Maria) Perez of Edinburg and Jesse (Clara) Perez of Dayton; four daughters, Sylvia Estrada, Minnie (Ambrose) Cantu and Rosita (Noe) Peña, all of Beeville, and Mary (Juan) Peña of Snyder; 24 grandchildren; and 37 great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15, at Angelus Funeral Home. A rosary was recited there that evening at 7 o’clock.

The funeral Mass was celebrated Wednesday, Jan. 16, at 10 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church with Rev, Balaswamy Pasala officiating. Burial followed in Our Lady of Victory Cemetery #2.

Pallbearers were David Cantu, Matthew Perez, Frank Garza, Noe Peña, Billy Peña and Jimmy Estrada.
