Mayor, two alderman spots up for re-election on May 10

GOLIAD – The City of Goliad general election will be Saturday, May 10.

Qualified candidates may file for a place on the ballot until 5 p.m. Feb. 28.

The mayor position, currently held by Jay Harvey, and two alderman positions, currently held by Ed Carter and Alfred Perez, will be on the ballot.

These positions are for two-year terms. Applications to file may be obtained from the City of Goliad office at 152 W. End St.

Requirement to file include residency for one year in the state prior to filing deadline and six months in the city prior to filing deadline. Persons must be 18 years of age and registered voters at the time of election. The last day to register to vote was Feb. 3.

Early voting will be at City Hall beginning Monday, April 28 through Friday May 2 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Extended early voting will be Monday and Tuesday, May 5 and 6 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
