Devin Medina, a senior from Kenedy High School, traveled to the boys state powerlifting championships in Abilene this past weekend. Devin competed in the division 3 (class 1A and 2A) 114 lb weight class. He came into the meet ranked 9th out of the 12 lifters from around the state. After achieving personal records in all three of his lifts, 335lbs in the squat, 180lbs on the bench and 355lbs deadlift, his total of 870lbs was good enough to get him to 3rd place and to take home a bronze medal. Coaches expressed congratulations to Devin. Pictured here is Devin just after receiving his well earned medal.
