REFUGIO - The Williamson Senior Citizens Center will host this month's dinner on Wednesday, July 10. A number of representatives from several agencies will be on hand to provide information on Medicare; get help on utilitiy bills; and to assist in filling out the needed forms. Representatives will arrive at 11 a.m. and the meal will be served at noon. They will continue helping clients after the meal.

"This is a very important dinner," said Kenda Nelson, director of Elderly Services. "We have outreach personnel from the Area Agency on Aging, Bee County Action Agency, the Food Bank of the Golden Crescent and Corpus Christi Home Care."

Leticia Ochao from AAA will review the Part D Medicare Prescription Drug Plan and Carol Ayala will assist in filling out forms. A person from BCAA will take applications to help people pay utility bills; and a representative with Corpus Christi Home Care will take blood pressure and blood sugar readings.

"Many of our elderly residents qualify for these programs," Nelson said. "We have brochures in Elderly Services to help you determine eligibility and what papers you need to bring with you."

"Come by Elderly Services and pick up the income guidelines and other information so that you can bring the needed documents to get help with your utility bills," Nelson said. "While you're here, sign up for the dinner or call us at 361-526-5579 for the head count."

Frank Hosey and Manny Govella are planning the menu that will feature smothered chicken with all the trimmings.

Door prizes will be given out.
