A worker at the Texas Department of Highways and Public Transportation archeological "dig" along old Texas Highway 9 in Live Oak County measures for exact locations of skeletal remains uncovered there. At the time of this undated photo, anthropologists had uncovered 12-14 bodies in the sandy area once used as a watermelon patch. The remains, believed to be 3,000 years old or more, were probably nomadic Indians who once roamed the area in search of game.
