Police Chief Joe Treviño, Glynis Holm Strause of ConocoPhillips and Detective Greg Baron hold up a large copy of a $13,000 check the Beeville Police Department received from the oil company recently. Treviño used the donation to purchase two Yamaha all-terrain vehicles that will join the fleet of two others the department uses for special operations. Treviño and Baron said the two new vehicles have already been put into action, and one arrest has been made by an officer patrolling the Poesta Creek area. Treviño said the ATVs will allow officers to reach a variety of areas in the city not accessible to regular patrol cars.
