A horned owl from the Texas Zoo in Victoria sits on a perch in front of Mission Nuestra Senora del Espíritu Santo de Zuniga in Goliad State Park during Saturday’s Rio! Rio!
GSP Superintendent Brenda Justice said over 1,000 students and teachers came to event Friday and an estimated 460 visited Saturday, when the exhibits were open to the public.
Justice said 23 booths from naturalist and historic groups from all over the state were on display.
Next year’s Rio! Rio! is scheduled for Nov. 8 and 9.
