Patrons appreciated

I wish to thank all of the Beeville Community Chorus patrons for their loyal support during 2011. The members of the choir and the executive board appreciated the 30 patrons who attended the choir’s Christmas concert on Tuesday, Dec. 6, in the Gertrude R. Jones Fine Arts Auditorium on the Coastal Bend College Campus. The concert was well received by those in attendance.

We also would like to thank those patrons who were part of the 150 plus in the audience on Saturday, Dec. 3, at the historic mission in the Goliad State Park for the choir’s annual concert. We met several “winter Texans” from out of state who had come to Goliad just for the concert, because they happened to be staying in the state park last year, heard the choir’s concert and “had to come back.” The choir has been the last event of “Christmas in Goliad” for nearly 20 years. The choir also presents a spring concert at Goliad State Park each April. The Goliad concerts have become a traditional event, and the mission is a wonderful place to sing.

I also wish to thank each person who gives of his or her time and talent each Tuesday evening for an hour and a half rehearsal. It is each of them that keeps the Beeville Community Chorus “alive and well,” as they provide the community and surrounding areas with live choral music. I look forward to seeing everyone in the audience during our spring concerts, and I wish all of our patrons and choir members a very merry Christmas and a happy new year.

Dr. James Lee
