On Wednesday, July 8, at about 8:22 a.m., Beeville Police Department officers were dispatched to the Lazy R Saddle Shop, 327 North Washington St., in reference to a burglary.
Officers spoke to the owner, Raul Casarez. He showed them where a burglar had broken the locks on the back door and entered the business. Nothing else appeared to be damaged but the money in both the cash registers located in the store was missing.
Casarez said about $300 was taken. The suspects left the checks and the change in the registers. Photographs and fingerprints were taken at the scene of the crime.
