The Refugio County Retired School Personnel presented all the third grade students in the county with a free book.

The organization gives the gifts each year to foster the love of reading. Retired school personnel from each of the three schools in the county make up the organization which provides the books to students at Austwell-Tivoli, Refugio, and Woodsboro Elementary schools.

This year, the books were provided free of charge to the RCRSP by Half-Price Books in Corpus Christi.

“The students are encouraged to read and use their imagination instead of just relying on television and electronic games,” said a spokesperson for the organization.
