At the monthly April meeting of the Runge Chamber of Commerce, elections were held for the 2014-2015 officers. Newly elected officers are: President - Janice Sykora, Vice President - Jon Waller, Secretary: Gloria Brewer, Treasurer - Brenda Hansler, and Diplomat - Hilda Schryver. Special thanks go to past President Craig Funke for his work and leadership. We were able to achieve great things this past year, and with that momentum, we look forward to growing and doing even more this coming year. Come and join us.

The Runge Cemetery Association held their annual Decoration Day on Sunday, April 13 at 2 p.m. Pastor Jon Waller presented an uplifting devotional and with his guitar and several special hymns were sung. Members shared memories of those who had passed this last year. Anyone interested in getting involved with the association, please contact Shirley Hoffman.

Tuesday, April 29 at 6:30 p.m. at the Runge School Cafeteria, everyone is invited to join us as the Runge Independent School District Facility Improvement Committee presents their new brochure on proposed changes to school facilities. This is a Public Meeting and everyone is encouraged to attend. You will meet Mr. Jim Singleton with Jim Singleton Architects as well as see plans to be presented and discussion regarding the School Bond scheduled for the upcoming May Election. Please join us as we work together to make Runge ISD a great place for our children to learn. Educating our youth is the most important responsibility as a community.

Congratulations and thank you for an excellent job hosting the 2nd Friday Breakfast goes to one of our newest Runge Chamber members - The Runge Museum.   Wonderful fellowship with 28 friendly folks from Kenedy, Karnes City and the Runge community were able to fellowship and share what’s happening in their world.

Thanks so much for your support of our monthly breakfasts.
