Runge ISD earns top financial rating

The Runge Independent School District Board of Trustees discussed a report about a recent financial rating for the school district during their regular meeting on Oct. 21.

A public hearing and an explanation on the Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas (FIRST) was presented by Superintendent Janice Sykora. According to the report, the Texas top score is 52 and Runge Independent School District scored 69 which is a superior achievement.

Several Items were presented to the school board on the proposed purchase of instructional and curriculum materials.

Among these were the Rosseta Stone for Spanish Language Instruction, and for Ag science, Ag-Science instructional materials and curriculum from Texas A&M University.

The board was presented with campus improvement plans for 2013 – 2015 and discussed hiring a Professional Service Provider (PSP)

The trustees discussed and selectede Karnes County Appraisal District directors for two-year terms.

The board named election judges for the Nov. 5 election on Chapter 41 status.

All above items presented to the board were approved and passed by the Runge Independent School District Board of Trustees.
