Mrs. Sanders was born to Rye Amos Rigby Bonner and Alpha Mildred Maroney Bonner on April 29, 1928, in Bloomington. She married James M. Sanders on July 1, 1949, in Galveston and was a member of First United Methodist Church in Three Rivers and First United Methodist Joy Circle. She was a Live Oak County health nurse in the mid-1960s, a retired nurse for Three Rivers Independent School District and worked for several public and private companies as a nurse. She enjoyed painting.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James M. Sanders; and a brother, Robert R. Bonner.
Survivors include her children, James R. (Kelly) Sanders of Beaumont and Sheryl (Tony) Ferguson of Three Rivers; a brother, Warren (Faye) Bonner of Ozark, Ala.; three grandchildren, Nicole Allison, Will Ferguson and Katie Ferguson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, July 15, at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home in Three Rivers.
The funeral service was conducted at 3 p.m. Monday, July 16, at First United Methodist Church in Three Rivers with Rev. Harry West officiating. Interment followed at Three Rivers Cemetery.
