Rydolph to receive Boy Scouts’ highest honor on Saturday

AUSTIN – Kennard M. Rydolph III will be inducted into the Eagle Scouts during an Eagle Court of Honor Ceremony at Hyde Park Baptist Church Saturday, Jan. 12, at noon.

Rydolph completed the requirements for Eagle Scout by completing the Eagle Board of Review on Nov. 4, 2012. He is a member of Troop 459 of Hyde Park Baptist Church where scout master is Tom Mountz.

This is the Boy Scouts highest honor and a very important achievement. To become an Eagle Scout, Kennard earned 32 merit badges, service in various leadership roles for Troop 459.

He also completed a major community service project at Greater Works Baptist Church of Austin, where Leonard James is pastor. It involved 10 picnic tables for Greater Works Baptist Church to contribute to outdoor fellowship for the church and community.

Kennard, 17, is a junior at Pflugerville High School. His future plan is to become an engineer.

He is the son of Kennard and Phyllis Rydolph and the oldest grandson of Verna Kay Jones and Kennard and Esther Rydolph of Refugio.
