“We shot the ball really well. The players did a good job of executing the game plan,” said Skidmore head coach Adam Wollam.
S-T took off running right from the opening tip. The Bobcats hit for 20 first period points while holding the visitors to a mere eight.
The Bobcats then really got things fired up by scorching the nets for 30 second period points. The Vaqueros had trouble and hit for only four points. The Bobcats blazed their way to a comfortable 50-12 lead at the half.
The Vaqueros fared a little better in the third period as they got 12 tallies on their side of the scoreboard. It really did not help though as the ’Cats hit for 20 to take an insurmountable 70-24 lead.
The Bobcats slowed everything down in the fourth quarter with the game well in hand. The San Diego boys added another 12 points while the home team hit for six points to capture the easy victory over the Vaqueros.
The Bobcats poured in 10 three-pointers in the game. Zeke Huerta hit five from beyond the arc. Schumacher added three, and East hit two of the long jumpers.
Four Bobcats were in double figures with Zeke Huerta leading the way with 23 points. Brandon East followed with 16, and Eric Schumacher added 15. Erasmo Huerta recorded 10 points. John Hernandez followed with five, and Dominic Stewart sank four. Both Ryan Scott and Aaron Hughes contributed two points.
The S-T JV Bobcats were also victorious, beating the San Diego boys 41-20.
The Bobcats traveled to Freer on Friday night to meet the Buckaroos.
