S-T runners fare well at Region IV meet

SAN ANTONIO — The Region IV-2A cross country meet for the Skidmore-Tynan runners did not lead to a trip to the state meet, but the Lady Cats and Bobcats performed well in the huge field of runners.

The Lady Cats placed 17th out of 23 teams in the varsity girls’ competition at the National Shooting Complex site.

Tatiana Maxwell finished 23rd with a time of 13:22 for her two-mile event. Brianna Maxwell placed 73rd overall in 14:35, and Misty Martin was close by in 78th in 14:48. Dolores Hinjosa was right behind Martin with a time of 14:50 in 79th place. Emily Salinas placed 127th in 15:54 to complete the five-runner team for the Lady Cats.

The boys’ team finished 15th overall with 23 other teams competing in San Antonio.

Erasmo Huerta placed 27th overall to lead the Bobcats. Ryan Scott finished 32nd with a time of 17:54 for his three-mile trek. Jonathan Hernandez crossed the finish line in 48th in 18:23, and teammate Ezequiel Huerta was 132nd overall in 20:30. Tatean Stroman placed 152nd in 21:43 to complete the first five runners for the team totals.

Also running for the Bobcats was Timothy Krebbs, who placed 160th with a time of 24:16.
