Sammy was born on October 10, 1973, in Colorado City, Texas. Sammy graduated from Pettus High School in 1994, and joined the United States Marines in October of 1994, and served his country proudly for eight years. Sammy served as Cpl. In the 2nd Battalion 7th Marine 1st Marine Division. He later joined the Beeville Police Department in August of 2003. He served as patrolman then moved up in rank to Sgt and later was promoted to a Detective and served as commander for the Beeville Police SWAT Team, also for the Beeville Police Color Guard. He was also a member of the B.M.L.E.O.A.
Sammy was a member of the First United Methodist Church and was a devoted Christian and a kind and gentle, loving husband and father.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Guadalupe G. Abrigo Jr.; his paternal grandfather, Tomas Abrigo Sr; his maternal grandmother, Janie Rivera; his maternal grandfather, Nieves Garcia Sr.
He is survived by his loving wife, Monica Jimenez Abrigo of Beeville, Texas. Mr. & Mrs. Abrigo were married on April 7th, 2006, in Beeville, Texas. He is also survived by his father, Guadalupe G. Abrigo Sr. and his stepmother, Aurora Gomez, both of Beeville, Texas; his mother, Brigida Garcia Duque and his stepfather, Ricardo Duque, both of Port Lavaca, Texas; four daughters, Alyssa Nicole Abrigo and Aliyah Dominique Abrigo, both of Pettus, Texas, Krysten Amerie Abrigo and Karyssa Ameris Abrigo, both of Beeville, Texas; two sons, Chad Adam Garcia and Cross-Anthony Natividad Garcia, both of Beeville, Texas; two brothers, Daniel Abrigo and Felix Abrigo, both of Beeville, Texas.; five sisters, Mary (Jesse) Abrigo Gomez, Angelita Abrigo and Herminia (Carlos) Reyes, all of Beeville, Texas, Yolanda (Israel) Charles of Tuleta, Texas and Cynthia Ann (Roland) Abrigo of Pettus, Texas; and several nephews and nieces.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, August 31, 2010, from 6 to 9 p.m., with a prayer service held at 7 p.m. that evening at the First United Methodist Church, located at 106 East Cleveland Street.
The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, September 1, 2010, at the First United Methodist Church. Burial followed at the Beeville Memorial Park cemetery with full military and police honors.
Pallbearers were Sgt. Eddie Garcia, Sgt. Christopher Bernal, Ptl. Michael Willow, Sgt. Roland Rodriguez, Asst. Chief of Police Kenneth Jefferson and Sgt.Reagan Scott. Honorary pallbearers were Danny Abrigo, Felix Abrigo, Israel Charles Sr., Roland Jaure, Jesse Gomez, Carlos Reyes, Israel Charles Jr., Julian Charles., Chad Garcia and Cross-Anthony Garcia.

The services were beautiful.
It is so sad he suffered so much. He is no longer suffering. I pray his children,his wife, mom, dad, sisters, brothers, and all his loyal friends will look up to the Lord for peace and love and understanding of their loss of Detective Sammy Abrigo.
