GOLIAD – The Goliad County Sheriff's Office has been notified that several residents have been the target of a mail scam.

Sheriff Kirby Brumby said Thursday that residents have received letters from a company called HomeServce USA Repair Management Corp. offering water service line coverage.

The letter asks recipients to provide credit card information to purchase the service.

"They should just throw it away," Brumby said of the letter. "I have talked to two or three people already about that. The city has not authorized them to do that. It is scam and we recommend people not contact them or send them any money."
