Creative competitors are scrambling to get their entry fees and forms in to the George West Chamber of Commerce for the StoryFest Red Wagon Parade Event. With less than two weeks until the 21st Annual StoryFest the anticipation is building.

Following the criteria is a necessity for the success of the parade and to have the opportunity to win this years event.

Red Wagons will line the street in front of Mysti’s Salon at 9:30, Saturday Nov. 7, eager to start StoryFest with an enthusiastic stroll around the courthouse square pulling their Red Wagon Parade Entries. Participants must prepare themselves and their wagons to move on uneven street surfaces, over and around obstacles while moving at a steady moderate pace. Passengers are not allowed in the wagons.

Upon completion of the parade route the wagons will be moved to a display area on the courthouse lawn where they will remain until 5 p.m. While the wagons are on display for the public to view, judges will cast their vote for the best wagons in the Adult, Youth and Commercial categories. Winners will be announced on Stage One during the Mid Day Liars Contest. The one of a kind trophies will be placed on the winning entries for the contestants to take home at the end of the designated exhibit time.

Entry forms are due this Friday, Oct. 29 at the George West Chamber of Commerce. The forms may be picked up Monday - Friday between 9 a.m. - noon or you can use the form online at: However, the form must be printed out and turned in to the George West Chamber of Commerce. Entry fee to compete is $5.
